About the artist

Hello! I’m Sarah, a Birmingham-based artist and illustrator. This is my third year contributing to Art for the Earth, and I’m proud to be part of such a vital project. My work explores light, atmosphere, and memory, often reflecting on how ecological change shapes the world around us. For me, making work for this project is about holding onto wonder, while also facing up to what we risk losing.

About the art

A quiet elegy for light itself. This work reflects on the beauty and melancholy of a horizon in flux, where sea and sky merge into an uncertain stillness. As ecological change alters our atmosphere, reshaping colour, weather, and even the quality of light - the horizon becomes both threshold and warning.
