About the artist
I’m Sarah, a Birmingham based amateur fine artist-illustrator-creator. I’m really excited to be taking part in Art for the Earth for the first time this year and for the opportunity to create a piece of work for such an incredible and vital cause. It has also given me the push I’ve needed to blow the dust off my palette and get painting again!
About the art
This is my first year submitting a piece to Art for the Earth. I wanted to create something inspired by the incredible natural sights I have seen on my travels; ‘Persistence’ is based on one of many visits to Iceland, namely Reynisfjara beach. Despite the devastating impact of humans on the environment, nature is tough, it keeps on pushing to survive, it persists - but it also serves as a stark reminder that time and tide waits for no man, we only have a finite amount of time left to save our planet from irrevocable disaster.
