About the artist

Nigel is a Director at PwC whose hobby includes woodworking. Over the past few years he has developed his passion by turning a succession of pieces on his wood lathe.

About the art

The piece is called Surfwood and is a collaboration between Chris Player (the painter) & Nigel Hutchinson (the woodturner). The idea of the painting is that it is a drone view of a surfer coming into a beach. The bowl is the canvas and is turned from a piece of beech - sadly not from the beach!
