About the artist

I'm Louisa from London. I loved painting, arts and crafts as a child & teenager, but sadly didn't keep it up when I went to university. I picked up a paintbrush again in the pandemic lockdowns and had the space and time to fall in love with painting again! I like painting landscapes, using acrylic paint. I enjoy painting on different surfaces but use mainly canvas or watercolour paper.

About the art

3 x acrylic paintings on canvas attached via rope. This painting is inspired by a trip to Madeira. I was amazed at the rugged coastal landscape of the island, but like so many places in the world, its landscape, coasts and wildlife are going to be drastically impacted by climate change. This painting is also inspired by the work WWF is doing to protect the seas and coastal environments around the globe.

In the spirit of sustainability, I try to reuse canvases. The bottom canvas on this set had a painting of an apple underneath! I actually started this Madeira painting 2 years ago but never found the inspiration to complete it until now - the top painting is brand new and I'm delighted that this canvas is not going to waste!
