About the artist

I started Art for the Earth in 2020 when I was looking for a way to do something positive for our natural world and the amazing work that WFF do, so I started by auctioning a few of my personal paintings. It has grown since and captured other's imaginations and I'm incredibly proud of that. Art isn't my profession but it is a hobby and passion that I do on the weekends. I like to paint in oils, finding blends in the colours while aiming for a realistic view of a scene that has caught my imagination.

About the art

Land of Fire and Ice is a photo shared with me by an old school friend and talented photographer, Laurence Fry. The scene grabbed me instantly, especially as it connects with the cause to protect our polar ice caps. I originally submitted a version of this painting two years ago and I wanted to do a slightly different take on it this year to bring it truer to Laurence's original edit which was more vibrant and bolder in it's colours. The scene is of Iceland and the medium is oil on canvas.
