Hi I'm Larlie :) I'm 20 years old, from Somerset. With a background in both fine art and graphic design, I like to mix things up - so you'll find my work includes paintings, illustrations, graphics & more! After an instagram account refresh in March 2023, I've been attempting to make art around my 9-5 and share it on @larliedesign and see what happens... so far I've earned a fair few commissions, so who knows? Maybe one day I'll be able to live in a little place on the coast and create for a living - a girl can certainly dream!

About the art

Kingfishers are a vulnerable species due to their low breeding numbers and habitat loss. Consequently, they are protected by law and afforded Schedule 1 status under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. WWF even offer an 'adopt a Kingfisher' to support WWF's conservation efforts. Inspired by the moment a Kingfisher flew into my 9-5 office window, look a bit dazed, then flew away - I started to think about the poor little Kingfisher and where (I assume) it would much rather live. I gathered it would be a place without the nuisance and confusion of huge, reflective office windows...
