About the artist

I am a Hampshire based artist who is constantly fascinated and inspired by global wildlife, but especially the native UK wildlife I have in my garden. I was taught to paint at a young age by my grandad who paints watercolour landscapes up in Shropshire. Since then I have gone on to study art at GCSE and A level. I started up my business 'by aspen crafts' to fundraise for the World Scout Jamboree in 2019. I am currently studying geography at Portsmouth Uni, creating and running my shop alongside my studies.

As well as my online shop and social media I have been attending local craft markets and trade shows as well as taking commissioned work of peoples pet portraits. I would love to take on more freelance work and might even have some new and exciting projects moving along in the background. Since launching my business as an enterprise in 2020 I have been passionate about raising money and awareness for charitable causes, in doing so I've joined causes such as Art for the Earth, which I wholeheartedly support. I also donate a portion of my profits every year to a chosen charity, this year's charity is MIND. Mental health has always been a passion of mine and I find my mental health benefits greatly from being outside in nature. I also find it very therapeutic recreating my surroundings through art Please see my socials

About the art

The dominant hues of Ultramarine blues and whites dominate the colour palette used, evoking a sense of tranquillity and serenity. This gentle transition of blues gives the impression of distance within the heavens, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the vastness of the scene and let the mind wander and find solace within the vastness of nature.
