About the artist

A keen amateur artist in her spare time, Amit regained a passion for art after recently living and experiencing the living culture of the Dutch masters in the Netherlands and under the tutelage of more contemporary artists in Amsterdam.

About the art

Angry Bird depicts the North African ostrich, which is the nominate subspecies of the common ostrich from West and North Africa. It has the largest average size among the subspecies of ostriches, making it the largest living bird. It alone inhabits the harsh environment of the Sahara. It is sadly critically endangered due to habitat loss and overhunting as the main sources of population decline. Sahara Conservation, a ground-breaking conservation effort has been in place since 2008 to save the endangered North African ostrich.
